Weekly Summer Study Begins June 20! All Studies Meet Wednesday Evenings, 7:00-8:30pm, (Parent Session June 13)

Study for Adults:

Most people have heard the “whats” of Catholic teaching, but very few have ever heard the “whys.” With profound insight, Christopher West demonstrates that the Church’s teaching on sex and marriage “makes sense”, and, in fact, is the “logic” of Christianity—because it corresponds perfectly with the deepest stirrings and desires of the human heart. This study is for everyone searching for their ultimate purpose in life.

  • Learn why the redemption of our sexuality is the key to happiness.
  • Develop a “new lens” through which to see the world with greater clarity.
  • See how God’s mystery is revealed through the body and spousal love.
  • Discover the truth behind the lies of lust and pornography and how they can be overcome.
  • Learn the language of sexual love.

Study for High School Students:

Young Catholics are surrounded by influences that challenge their faith and morals every day. These challenges call for more than a “do this, don’t do that” approach to catechesis. Teens desire truth and understanding about who they are, their purpose in life, and what will ultimately bring them happiness. Theology of the Body for Teens presents the two hottest topics on the planet – God and sex – and approaches them through Pope John Paul II’s compelling vision for love and life. Using a great mix of stories, real-life examples, activities, prayers, and references to the culture that teens understand, Theology of the Body for Teens answers the questions teens have about their own bodies, issues on sexual morality, and how they were uniquely created for greatness.

  • Why did God give us our sexual desires?
  • What is the difference between love and lust?
  • Can Christ bring healing if I’ve already “messed up”?
  • How far is “too far”?
  • How can teens stay pure in our oversexed culture?
  • Is there any hope for overcoming lust and pornography?
  • What does our sexuality teach us about God?
  • What is the “language of the Body” and how do I “speak” it?
  • How can I discover my vocation?

Study for Middle School Students

There is little doubt that pre-teens are in an often confusing time of quest and discovery, especially with issues concerning their bodies, their sexuality, and their future. There are countless sources – from the airwaves, to peers, to the Internet – ready to provide answers. Specifically designed for 6th through 8th grades, it too uses a great mix of stories, real-life examples, activities, prayers, and references to the culture that are relevant to lives of the youth.

    • Who am I?
    • Are there consequences to my actions?
    • What is the difference between love and lust?
    • How do I balance family, friends, school, God, music, TV, internet, texting, etc., in my daily life?
    • How can I discern my vocation to marriage, priesthood, or religious life?
    • How do I deal with bullying, gossip, peer pressure, pornography, divorce, etc?
    • Can I live my Catholic faith no matter how I messed up in the past?
