I was born and raised in Frederic, Wisconsin; a place known to have more cows than people. I recently graduated from the University of Mary in Bismarck, North Dakota with a Bachelors in Theology. Before coming to Our Lady Star of the Sea, I spent two summers as a Totus Tuus Missionary for my home, Diocese of Superior, also known as The Supe. I’ve also had the opportunity to get involved and help lead my campus ministry at Holy Family College in Manitowoc, Wisconsin. Yet, none of this would have happened without my High School experience.
I grew up in a Catholic home, but I would say that I didn’t start becoming Catholic until I started going to a Baptist youth group. During High School, my best friend (who is Baptist) invited me to her Sunday night youth group and different conferences that her church would attend. Being curious, I tagged along. Little did I know at that time, but that youth group would be the reason I would read the Bible, look into the Church Fathers’ writing and Church documents to discover answers to questions, and then ultimately lead me into discovering the Truth within the Eucharist.
All that being said, I can’t wait to begin serving the community in whatever capacity the Lord is specifically asking of me for the year. May our paths cross in my time being here at Star.
