My name is Olga Orszulak and I am from Chicago, IL. I just graduated from Northern Illinois University with a degree in meteorology (I'm definitely putting my degree to good use ;) ). While at NIU I was heavily involved at the Newman Center through participating in the Sacraments, attending Bible studies, discipleship, and planning different student outreach activities to invite others into friendship with Christ.
Let me tell you, when I first came to NIU I did not expect to become a missionary after graduation but it was through God's grace I learned how to have a consistent prayer life, developed virtuous friendships, and had the chance to participate in service opportunities such as volunteering for Habitat for Humanity in Tennessee which enabled me to hear the Good Shepherd saying "Come, follow me." I could have never imagined that He would lead me to Our Lady Star of the Sea all the way in Washington!
I am so excited to become part of this parish family and to be drawn even deeper into relationship with Christ and to share Him with others through coordinating the Teen Confirmation program as well as participating in the various other ministries and Sacramental life.
