What's the Purpose? The aim of discipleship groups is to build a Christ-centered community in order to encourage each other on our journeys, to challenge each other to be Saints, and to have fun while doing it. Who can participate? High School Youth Grades 9-12 Who are leading the Discipleship Groups? Some super cool and faithful adult volunteers, including all of the missionaries too! How often does High School Discipleship meet? Every Saturday from 6:30pm to 8pm, starting September 21st with the Kick-Off Bonfire. What can I expect from High School Discipleship? You can expect once a month there to be a community-social night. The focus being on building up relationship with the whole High School community. These nights can consist of going bowling, having a Bob Ross paint night, or playing variety of sports. There will be weeks where the focus is on Discipleship Small Groups. These weeks will allow for Discipleship Small Groups to discuss topics or do activities that will fed into the needs of that particular group of people. For example, one group might do a Bible Study on the book of John, while another group is watching a video on evangelization. Then, there will be Group Prayer weeks. These nights, the whole High School group will participate in form of prayer or learning how to deepen their own prayer life. These could be Adoration Nights, praying for the intentions of others, Lectio Divina, or having a speaker come in and speak about an element of prayer. Okay, I'm totally in. How do I sign up?! We're glad you asked. |
