Hello, my name is Rachel Vrazel, and this year I will be serving at the Our Lady Star of the Sea School! Some quick facts about me: I like to sing, paint, read, and am always down to play a good game of Bananagrams. Some of my favorite saints are St. Jose Sanchez del Rio, Bl. Imelda Lambertini, and St. Therese of Lisieux. I also love the Book of Esther! I'm the oldest of five kids, and as a young child I lived in Oregon, Tennessee, and Wisconsin. However, my family has lived the last nine years just outside of St. Louis, Missouri, where I graduated from high school this past June. My four years in high school were a beautiful time of growth in relationship and intimacy with Christ through prayer, community, and service. I was heavily involved with my parish youth group, and assisted in various parish ministries and community outreaches. This included assisting Confirmation classes, leading middle school retreats, lector ministry, and homeless ministry in St. Louis. During my junior year of high school, I began looking at colleges and found myself puzzlingly dissatisfied wherever I looked. Around this time, a friend of mine who knew Sr. Maria Caeli told me about the Missionary Internship and connected me with her to learn more about the program. I then began to realize the dissatisfaction I felt was because God had placed a call of service and mission on my heart that school just couldn't fulfill. Through much prayer and discernment, the Lord made it clear to me that Star is where He is calling me this year - and here I am! I truly am so excited and feel so blessed to be here at Star with you all! I know the Lord has beautiful things in store for all of us. Please don't hesitate to reach out if you have questions for me, if there is anything I can help you with, or if there is a way I can pray for you. Know you are in my prayers, and please keep me in yours as well!
